From Wattpad to Blogspot: The Reason Why I Decided to Make a Blogspot Account

Hello there everyone! This is AngAuthorNaUlyanin from Wattpad, a "feeling" writer of numerous one shots and a fan-fiction writer of GusLey, which is the combination of names Gusion and Lesley— in-game characters from a famous mobile game— Mobile Legends Bang Bang (MLBB).

People who knew me might wonder why I decided to make a blogspot account.

Let's have a little background to this...

I actually began writing stories when I was kid, around eight years old, most probably. It all started with a silly dream that triggered my imagination and then—boom! I began writing stories— it was just purely scenarios (which I can call as one shots but eight-year-old me didn't know this term before) only until I constructed a whole story. And then it continued— and continued... until it became a hobby, and a little escape from reality.

When I was in high school, e-book was a thing (ah, good old days). And I was so into it that I can read up to 3:00 AM although I have to get up at 5:00 AM. Then we discovered that those stories where from Wattpad— an online reading website.

And this friend of mine made me an account and even published my one shot there— without my consent. I didn't get mad though but I was too embarrassed because I know how cringey my stories were. But fortunately, it gained a fair number of reads, comments, and votes. And because of that, I decided to add my other stories.

It was 2018 when I started playing this mobile game. And being a writer by heart, I was so happy when I saw that each character has a background story. Until I was introduced to ships or couples in the game.

I was a Lesley main, and the male hero that caught my attention first was actually Gusion. But I still don't know how to use him up to this date because I have slow hands or fingers. And I was so delighted that my main was actually being shipped to him! Yay!

And I tried to search for books about them in Wattpad then I saw that there were alternate universe stories about them! I was so happy that time that I binged-read them all!

Until one author held a writing contest and I decided to join, like why not? I didn't win but at least I tried.

And then I decided to make my own one-shot stories compilation about them. And I didn't expect that my book would be that popular so quickly. And we were so happy when we learned that the next Valentine's couple skins would be for GusLey!

But the celebration was cut-off short in 2019 where a new female hero was introduced and shook off the whole fandom— claiming that this female character was the true partner of Gusion.

There were so many fanwars and it was so toxic which resulted to declining number of GusLey artists and writers. But I remained strong. I didn't care about that lore or whatsoever— I continued writing for GusLey fandom even though I was busy with my thesis that time. There were many theories and speculations but I won't mentioned that anymore.

But when I was in the middle of reviewing for my licensure exam, my one-shot compilation book was suddenly gone.

Gone— as in it wasn't even on my drafts— Wattpad deleted my book without any notice. I don't have any back-up of that book. I emailed them but all I can get was just I violated one of their rules even though I was complete with warning and ratings on my book.

And that book had almost 101 thousand reads and almost two thousand votes.

Fortunately, a reader suggested me a way to easily re-write my stories (since it was still on my library) and I was able to re-publish the book.

However, it was deleted in 2020... again.

And I lost my motivation to write that time.

I just started my work during that time and I was so stressed then my book was deleted again.

It took me some time to finally update my two other on-going books after that. I actually had a lot of thoughts of stopping already from writing but something inside me was telling me not to.

So I decided to continue.

But after a lot of thoughts, I decided to publish my stories where I feel safer or have more freedom than the mentioned reading website.

So I created a blogger account— even though it doesn't make sense that I am going to write stories here.

Maybe another reason is that I want to get away from toxicity.

That's all. Thank you and welcome to my another home!
